During the senior years of residency a night float system is set up to cover the pediatric ward. Each senior is scheduled for 4 different weeks of call over the year. They are on call for shifts 6p-7a. Sunday night to Thursday night. The resident has no other commitments during the week. The weekend calls and back up calls for seniors are a rotating schedule that the chief resident does each rotation.
