IX. Policy on Resident Recruitment – CHM Residencies
MSU supports all its sponsored Residency Programs in making formal recruitment plans. Such plans may vary from year to year and include:
A. Development and use of the web to showcase their programs.
B. The MSU GME website has an area called “MSU GME and Affiliated Programs”. This site is located at: http://gme.chm.msu.edu/gme/respgms.htm
This site is a matrix that includes all the MSU Sponsored Programs web sites as well as the MSU affiliated GME web sites.
C. In addition to use of the web, all MSU GME programs use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) application program.
D. Following the submission of an ERAS application, all MSU GME programs use a ranking process to determine whether a given applicant will be interviewed.
E. MSU GME programs use a variety of interview processes. This may range from face to face interviews to video or telephone interviews that are sometimes necessary for international applicants.
F. Each MSU GME Program has a Committee that ranks the residents after the interview process.
G. Each MSU GME Program is required to use the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). MSU/CHM abides by all the conditions of the NRMP Match and Post Match Scramble.
H. When applicable Fellowships follow NRMP Match and Guidelines.
